The Blog Hop Train is still running

June 20, 2010

Good morning

I had a fabulous weekend chasing the Blog Hop train over 33 blogs, collecting lovely summer digital kits. One or two of the hosts were showing us how to use the kits in hybrid projects.  All their blogs were beautiful and a lot so simply they were just right – perfect.

Does anyone here in Dubai print their own patterned  paper? What printer do you use and recommend; is it a 12″ wide printer? Can you share with us?

It’s not too late to visit some of the stations and collect some of the freebies the first of which is this one from Jessica. Links in previous post.

If you are not sure how to use the kits and templates pop along to here and have a quick lesson – Jessica Sprague .com

Which is what I have just done to achieve this layout

I also worked on finishing the layout I am entering into the PaperClipping Festival starting on Tuesday – are you a member ? have you entered?  Noells’ videos are very good,  I have given you a taster in the past. You may have already viewed the one about ’anchoring’.

I have watch all of the members videos now and have lost track of how many tips/ideas I have recalled to create this layout; the video most related would be the one on anchoring – see here.  When I invited you to play I had a few phone calls and texts – thank you all so much and thank you Marie for entering a comment x

Now, can you tell me how many changes I have made  :)

This gives me an idea – why not let us all see your process through page/layout building – who is going to be first?

So here is my final piece – I actually had to say, enough! – stop playing, and those who know me well will understand what I am saying. Yes Jo, has a pair of fairy wings on her back! Don’t forget to reference the free video on anchoring here

I used Judikins Diamond Glaze to adhere the acetate – availabe in Art Stop – I checked this morning x   I let the ink from the printer dry over night and gently applied a little glaze to the surface the letters were written on – I printed on the rough side of the acetate in mirror image mode – and then spread the glaze with my finger avoiding the edges – I then cleared any accidental spread of glue from the edges with a damp cotton bud – I found FREEDOM!   I still put some of the edges under photographs though x

I also used :

Tim Holtz Distress Inks – walnut and forrest moss – with Inkessentials blending tool

Glue Glider PRO  – had great fun with this new pink toy – its now my must have glue

Liquid Pearls – Gold Pearl

Paper – from BasicGrey – the Cappella range

All products I purchased in Creative Hands

Here is a butterfly that didnt make it to the page!

Happy Days

I love the feel of your page. It is exquisite ! I love how your eye is drawn to the bride even though there is a lot going on on the page. Wonderful job!

      Hello Allie

Thank you for popping in for a read – it wasnt very helpful – I agree I am off now to correct myself :)

Oh I see where you mean now – it wouldnt help to add the link now as the train has stopped running. I had chatted about it starting in a previous post – but I do understand what you are saying – once you have landed on my page from a link how do you get to previous posts – I used to have home in the header but wordpress have changed the format recently and it disappeared – I havent worked out how to sort it yet – I must get on and do that. The Community Site address should take you to the beginning for now. xx

:) Thanks Marie – I did change the border just by adding the distress inks but the trim along the top is still there. Yes, the journaling moved around a bit in two places. Well done x

    Hi Christine
Trying to kick start my old memory I would say that you have changed the entire border of your layout, removed a “cut-out” trim along the top and angled the journalling on the left of the main photo. If I’m totally wrong then I guess it’s back to Sudoko & crosswords to remind the memory cells what they’re there for ; ).
